Ilayathalapathy Vijay has not been resting on the laurels of the
stupendous success of Thuppakki. He feels that the 100 day-100 crore
success of Thuppakki would only increase the expectations from fans and
thereby he has owned up the responsibility to live up to those high
expectations and achieve more. Vijay is also one who is not a keen
follower of the numbers game and it was the distributors who kept him
informed of the collections and he is genuinely delighted that they too
have reaped profits.
Vijay feels that Thalaivaa will be a new genre for himself and director Vijay as well and is very happy with the film’s progress. Nirav Shah’s camera work has been highly spoken about, especially the manner in which he sets frames for various moods. About the title ‘Thalaivaa’, Vijay has said that it has no political inclinations and neither does he lead any group in the film, instead he calls his fans as his true ‘thalaivargal’.
