Actress Kushboo who eventually forayed into active politics as a
spokesperson for the DMK has come under attack for her alleged
statements related to the party leadership. In a recent interview, it is
being said that, Kushboo suggested a consensus by vote for the next
leader of the DMK.
Earlier this afternoon, on 7th
February, at around 1.30 p.m nearly 50 unidentified individuals lodged
an attack on Kushboo’s residence, shattering windows and vandalizing
property, including her car. Her children who had just returned from
school were terrified with the atmosphere outside and were sheltered in a
safe zone inside the house. Sundar C is apparently out of town for a
shoot at the moment.
Kushboo has now approached the
Commissioner of Police to lodge a complaint against what some party
members claim to be vested interests.
Another actor turned
politician within the DMK, Chandrashekar, has objected to the statements
made by Kushboo in that specific interview and accused her of double
speak. He also questioned her commitment when she said that for her,
family would come first, next would be politics. He claims that for many
cadres like himself the party and the people were the first family. He
also reiterated the fact that Stalin would make for the most worthy
successor
