Ahead of International Women’s Day, Maya
Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) is conducting a short film
competition exclusive to women. The competition is open to participants
from Feb 22nd to Feb 24th, where they will find
assistance from MAAC’s mentors who will provide resources and help in
storyboarding, props and other technical aspects.
The competition titled ‘From Script to Screen’ will require participants to bring their own equipment and submit the film in a Youtube ready format by the deadline. The submitted films will then be available on MAAC’s Youtube page and a voting process will take place through MAAC’s Facebook page. The ones with the highest votes will make their way to a prominent jury’s table.
The jury comprises of eminent women filmmakers, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Gayathri & Priya V. The winners will be announced on March 6th and will be rewarded on the same day at MAAC’s Anna Nagar premises. The Director of MAAC, Anandh Ramesh feels that this is an opportunity for the womenfolk to show their creative skills in the field of films.
